On 19 November 2025, the University of Latvia (Insitute of Atomic Physics ans Spectroscopy, EZTF) hosted the research seminar “Nanomaterials for disease diagnostic and control” at the House of Science. The seminar, organised as a meeting within the MSCA-SE project ARGO (Grant agreement 101086441), focused on advanced nanomaterials and their applications in medical diagnostics and therapy.
The keynote lecture was delivered by Professor Mario Milco D’Elios (University of Siena, Italy), an internationally recognized expert in immune responses in infectious and autoimmune diseases, nanomedicine and space medicine. Additional talks were given by Dr. Damien Ismael Michel Faivre on magnetic iron oxides from synthesis to applications and Dr. Maksym Pogorielov on 2D nanomaterials (MXenes) for targeted anticancer treatment. The event also involved ARGO project partners from Umeå University (Thomas Boren and Zhanna Bugaytsova) and Sensografa (Arunas Ramanavicius), who contributed to the scientific discussions and future collaboration planning
