Project Abstract:
NeuroCardioChip is developing a specialized lab-on-a-chip system that mirrors real human biology using several advanced technologies:
- Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (hiPSCs): Real patient stem cells are grown into interacting human heart and nerve cells.
- CRISPR/Cas9: Gene-editing technology is utilized on the chip to correct or study precise genetic mutations.
- Microfluidics: Advanced fluid channels mimic natural blood flow across the artificial biological tissues.
- MXene Fiber Technologies: A highly conductive nanomaterial is integrated to send and measure precise electrical signals between the heart and brain cells
