Summary:

The anatomical complexity of the root canal system and the high rate of persistent microbial infections may lead to caries formation and periodontitis with health projections beyond dental hygiene. Therefore, new restorative materials are required for both aesthetic, health and safety reasons.

The ARGO project aims to develop new antibacterial materials for dentistry. Researchers will use innovative technologies to generate nanoparticles with antibacterial properties that can be employed for root filling. The materials will be tested in a specially designed tooth model as well as in an animal model
