Main directions of scientific work:

• low-temperature plasma physics, using the unique experience and equipment accumulated by the laboratory,
• development of technologies and optimisation for high frequency light-sources for various applications, like atomic absorption spectrometry, refractometry, Zeeman spectrometers, frequency standards, etc.,
• development of devices and methods for detecting pollution in the environment, especially, heavy metals like mercury,
• applications of plasma sources in disinfection, medicine and environmental protection,
• development of a development of a neural network model for plasma diagnostics

Projects: 

• Development of ecological disinfection equipment using UV LEDs and ozone
• Anti-calcification treatment of elastin-rich bioprosthetic materials using Fetuin A for aortic valved conduits
• Developing an artificial neural network model to analyse emission spectra of high-frequency electrodeless lamps

• Mercury Contamination in Wild Birds in Latvia: Current Patterns and Reconstruction of Previous Trends => completed
• Integration of secure technologies for protection against Covid-19 in healthcare and high risk areas => completed
